Disclaimer
Last updated: May 5, 2026
AI-generated analysis results require mandatory human review before you act on them.
All outputs from Editorial Check — fact-check verdicts, plagiarism scores, AI-detection results, editorial and citation audit scores, and SEO or benchmark analysis — are AI-assisted assessments only. Despite strict anti-hallucination standards built into the platform, AI outputs may still contain errors, unverified claims, or omissions. Users are solely responsible for verifying results and for editorial and legal review before publishing any content based on them.
1. General Information Only
Editorial Check is an AI-powered editorial verification platform. All content analyzed or processed by Editorial Check — including SEO keyword suggestions, fact-check results, plagiarism reports, AI detection scores, editorial audit ratings, AI citation audit results, benchmark analysis results, and exported documents — is provided for informational and assistive purposes only.
Exported content in PDF, DOCX, or Markdown formats maintains the same limitations and disclaimers as the original platform output. Export features are for convenience and offline access only; the accuracy and reliability limitations described in this Disclaimer apply to all exported formats.
Nothing on this platform constitutes professional legal, journalistic, medical, financial, or any other form of regulated advice.
2. AI-Assisted Analysis & Anti-Hallucination Standards
All analysis results produced by Editorial Check are generated using large language models (LLMs) evaluating the text you submit. The platform enforces strict standards in its analysis prompts, including:
- No fabricated findings: Analysis tools are instructed to evaluate only what is present in your submitted text and to never invent facts, claims, sources, or context that are not there.
- Graded, not binary, classifications: Where applicable, results use graded classifications (for example, Fact-Check claims are rated True, Likely True, Unverified, Misleading, or False) so that uncertainty is preserved rather than hidden behind a single verdict.
- No fabricated sources: Source references returned by the Fact-Checker or Citation Audit reflect the model's best assessment and must be independently verified — they are not guaranteed to be accurate or to exist as cited.
- Human review required: All analysis results are clearly AI-assisted assessments, not a substitute for professional editorial, legal, or journalistic review.
Despite these measures, AI-generated analysis may still contain errors, outdated information, omissions, or inaccuracies. Users are fully responsible for reviewing, verifying, and acting appropriately on all analysis results before publishing or relying on any content informed by them. Editorial Check does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any analysis output.
3. Fact-Checking Limitations
The fact-checking tool provided by Editorial Check is an AI-assisted feature and does not constitute a professional editorial or journalistic fact-check. Classifications such as "True," "Misleading," or "False" are AI-generated assessments based on available training data and web context — they are not definitive verdicts.
Users should independently verify all claims through authoritative sources before relying on or publishing fact-check results.
4. Plagiarism Detection Limitations
The plagiarism detection feature does not compare your text against a database, search index, or corpus of existing publications — Editorial Check has no such database. It uses an AI model to judge how generic, templated, or formulaic the phrasing reads, as a proxy for originality risk. It cannot identify or confirm an actual source, and it does not guarantee detection of all instances of similarity or plagiarism. Results should be treated as an originality-risk indicator, not a conclusive plagiarism determination.
A "Clean" result does not guarantee that content is entirely original. Users are responsible for ensuring the originality of their published work.
5. SEO Keyword Research Limitations
SEO keyword suggestions and content gap analyses provided by Editorial Check are generated by AI models using available internet context. Search volume classifications (High / Medium / Low) and intent labels are estimates and should not be treated as authoritative data from official SEO platforms.
Editorial Check accepts no liability for editorial or marketing decisions made based on SEO keyword suggestions. Users should verify keyword data through dedicated SEO tools before use in professional campaigns.
6. AI Detection Limitations
AI probability scores provided by Editorial Check indicate the likelihood that a piece of text was generated by an AI model. These scores are estimates based on statistical patterns and are not infallible. Both false positives and false negatives are possible.
Editorial Check accepts no liability for decisions made based on AI detection results, including editorial, employment, or academic decisions.
6a. Multilingual Content Limitations
Editorial Check's analysis tools automatically detect the language of submitted text and respond in that same language, including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Arabic, Japanese, and Chinese. While AI models are capable across these languages, output quality, grammatical accuracy, and factual reliability may vary between languages.
Users are especially responsible for reviewing AI-generated analysis in non-English languages before relying on it. Editorial Check makes no guarantee of linguistic accuracy, cultural appropriateness, or editorial quality for any specific language output.
6b. AI Citation Audit Limitations
The AI Citation Audit tool of Editorial Check analyzes submitted content for potential citation issues, sourcing gaps, and reference quality. Results are AI-generated estimates and do not constitute a professional editorial review or legal assessment of intellectual property compliance.
Editorial Check accepts no liability for decisions made based on citation audit results. Users are solely responsible for verifying sources and ensuring compliance with applicable copyright, plagiarism, and attribution standards.
6c. Editorial Audit Limitations
The Editorial Audit tool evaluates knowledge structure, citation intelligence, and trust integrity using AI models and returns a 0–100 score with a Poor-to-Excellent benchmark rating. This score is an AI-generated estimate and does not constitute a professional editorial review.
Editorial Check accepts no liability for editorial decisions made based on Editorial Audit results.
6d. Benchmark Analysis Limitations
Benchmark Analysis compares submitted content against AI-estimated industry norms for word count, keyword distribution, readability, structure, and engagement signals. Benchmark figures are AI-generated estimates, not verified statistics from a proprietary content-performance database.
Editorial Check accepts no liability for editorial or marketing decisions made based on Benchmark Analysis results.
7. No Warranties
Editorial Check is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
Export functionality is provided as-is. We do not warrant that exported documents will maintain perfect formatting across all systems or applications, or that file formats will be compatible with all software versions.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Harbinger Bros. LLC and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Editorial Check or reliance on any content generated or analyzed by the platform.
This includes but is not limited to: damages arising from publication of content based on Editorial Check's analysis without adequate independent review, reputational damage caused by publishing unverified claims, legal proceedings resulting from defamatory or privacy-violating content published by users, or any consequences of bypassing the mandatory human review process.
8a. Legal Compliance Responsibility
Users are solely responsible for ensuring that any content they publish complies with all applicable laws, including but not limited to:
- Defamation and libel law — Do not publish unverified allegations about real persons or organizations.

- Copyright law — Ensure all content respects intellectual property rights.
- EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689): The EU AI Act entered into force on 1 August 2024, with key obligations applying progressively from 2025 and 2026. Editorial Check operates as a provider of a general-purpose AI-assisted tool. Users operating in the EU who publish content processed by Editorial Check's AI Humanizer must ensure compliance with applicable AI Act obligations, including transparency requirements under Article 50 — which may require that AI-generated or AI-modified text intended for public distribution be labeled accordingly where it is not obvious to a reasonable person. Users are solely responsible for implementing required AI disclosures in their jurisdiction.
- Transparency obligations (general): In all jurisdictions where AI-disclosure is required — including under the EU AI Act, Canada's AIDA (if enacted), and applicable sector-specific regulations — users are responsible for labeling AI-assisted or AI-modified content accordingly.
Editorial Check provides editorial assistance tools only. It is not a legal compliance service, and nothing in its outputs constitutes legal advice.
9. Third-Party Links & Services
Editorial Check may reference or link to third-party websites, sources, or services. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party sites and do not endorse them.
10. Changes to This Disclaimer
We reserve the right to update this Disclaimer at any time. Continued use of Editorial Check after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Disclaimer.
11. Editorial Use Only
Editorial Check is intended for editorial, journalistic, and content creation support. It is not intended for:
- Medical, legal, or financial advice (consult qualified professionals for these domains)
