Accessibility Statement

Harbinger Bros. LLC is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continuously improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.

1. Our Commitment

We are committed to making Editorial Check accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We aim to meet or exceed the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) (published October 2023, superseding WCAG 2.1).

2. Conformance Status

Editorial Check is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. WCAG 2.2 introduced new success criteria (including focus appearance, dragging movements, target size minimum, and accessible authentication) which we are actively working to implement. We are continuously identifying and addressing accessibility gaps.

3. Accessibility Features

We have implemented the following accessibility features across Editorial Check:

  • Semantic HTML5 markup for screen reader compatibility
  • ARIA labels and roles where appropriate
  • Sufficient color contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for body text)
  • Keyboard navigability for all interactive elements
  • Focus indicators visible on interactive components
  • Responsive design supporting zoom up to 400% without loss of content
  • Alt text on all informative images
  • Skip-to-content navigation links
  • No content that flashes more than 3 times per second

4. Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content on Editorial Check may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:

  • Some AI-generated content may lack sufficient structure for screen readers — we are working to improve this.
  • The rich-text editor (article editing mode) may have limited screen reader support due to third-party component constraints.
  • PDF exports may not be fully accessible to assistive technologies at this time.
  • The Content Calendar view relies on visual color-coding for status indicators; a text-based alternative is available via the Article Archive.
  • Social Snippet panels use tab-based navigation; keyboard navigation is fully supported but screen reader labeling is being improved.

We are actively working to resolve these issues in upcoming releases.

5. Technical Specifications

Editorial Check relies on the following technologies for conformance with WCAG 2.1:

  • HTML5

  • JavaScript / React (Next.js)
  • WAI-ARIA

The platform is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers: NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), TalkBack (Android)
  • Voice control software: Dragon NaturallySpeaking
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Browser zoom and text resizing
